Julius W. "Trey" Crump, CPA
Trey Crump founded North Star Tax Advisory Group in 2022 with the needs of clients in mind. His business-specific approach puts YOUR business first.

Growing up in a small family-owned business, he knows firsthand what it means to navigate the struggles and rewards of owning a business. After graduating from Louisiana College in 2003, he devoted his accounting career to helping small businesses.
Trey offers extensive knowledge in the field of taxation, including compliance reporting of individual, corporate, partnership, trust, and estate tax returns. His experience extends to such industries as real estate (including commercial and residential development), tourism (including restaurants and hotels) and professional services (including physicians, attorneys, and consultants).
He is committed to the betterment of the community where he has served on the Board of Visitors for Louisiana College and on the Business Advisory Council for LSUA. Trey is a long-standing member and past president of the Central Louisiana Chapter of the LCPA Society. He is also an active member of many service organizations, including The Rotary Club of Alexandria. In 2017, Trey was also recognized for his outstanding achievements by being named one of Cenla’s top 20 under 40.
Martha Cade, CPA
Martha earned her undergraduate degree and juris doctorate from LSU, and over the years has earned several other certifications outside of her CPA license. She has worked with Trey since 2011, and through the years has provided a wide range of accounting services to clients in a variety of industries, including: insurance, financial planning, hospitality, residential and commercial leasing, and other small businesses. With her extensive experience and vast knowledge in tax and accounting, Martha is a valuable member of our team. Martha loves to read and travel, so when you don’t see her at the office, she is probably off on one of her worldwide adventures.
Devyn Allen, CPA
Devyn started his accounting career as an intern in 2021 and has fast tracked his way into being a major part of our firm. He earned his accounting degree from Louisiana College, and while there, he developed his teamwork and leadership skills as a member of the football and track teams. Devyn never backs down from any challenge, and recently passed the CPA exam and earned his CPA license. Devyn provides our clients with the CPA (Close Personal Attention) they deserve and is always willing to help them with a wide range of tax compliance and tax planning. When away from the office, Devyn enjoys traveling with his wife, focusing on physical fitness and cheering for his favorite sports teams. He is a member and current emerging CPA Council Representative of Central Louisiana Chapter of the LCPA Society.
Renea Ducote
Renea is a certified QuickBooks Pro Advisor and has worked with Trey since 2020. Her career has a diverse background in accounting in both the public and private sectors, including serval years with an international company. Renea is a problem solver and our go-to for new-client onboarding, bookkeeping systems, payroll, and local tax compliance. When away from the office, Renea enjoys spending time with her children and grandchildren, as well as traveling with her son’s baseball team.
Kristi Ray
Kristi is our executive administrator and has worked with Trey since 2016. Kristi is an expert in client relations, inventory management and daily administrative duties. She is the backbone of our office as she helps keep every corner of the office running smoothly, as well as making sure our clients’ needs and questions are taken care of. All while keeping a smile on her face and coffee in her hand. In her off time, Kristi is most likely participating in a ministry at Cross Branded Cowboy Church or with her husband cheering on their daughter as she participates in many rodeos and 4H activities around the state.
Lisa Nugent
Lisa is our Accounting Support Manager and her career in office administration and customer service brings an incredible level of experience to our team. Lisa is the ringleader for keeping everyone in line and our client work moving forward. With her organizational skills and attention to details, she lays the groundwork for many of the services we provide, while also handling many of our internal accounting processes. Her goal is to make sure our clients experience the highest level of customer service possible. When away from the office Lisa enjoys spending time with her family and tending in her flower garden.
Mo Ghannam
Mo began his internship with our firm in March 2024 and will soon graduate from Louisiana State University at Alexandria with his accounting degree. Upon graduation, he will begin his journey to obtain his CPA. Mo was raised in a business-oriented family and grew up in a hands-on environment. He is a firm believer in helping clients and building professional relationships. He is eager to learn and work his way through the various accounting roles at North Star. When Mo is not working, he spends his time wakeboarding.
